CALHN’s Executive Director Capital Projects & Planning, Rachael Kay, has been awarded a joint winner of the 2020 Chief Executive Women (CEW) scholarship.
Rachael and fellow recipient Liz Westcott will attend the Leading change in complex organisations program at MIT Sloan, to study the art and science of leading during times of change.
CEW Scholarships Committee Acting Chair Deidre Willmott congratulated both recipients on their achievement.
“If ever there was a time to support women leaders who are navigating their organisations through turbulence – it is now,” Ms Willmott said.
“Both winners are leaders in complex and changing environments. In Rachael’s case, the challenge is acute as the COVID-19 pandemic has required health services to adapt to new ways of working and service delivery…
“These scholarships will help Rachael and Liz take their change leadership skills to the next level and rise to the challenges ahead.
“We know that diverse leadership delivers better decisions and more equitable outcomes for Australia, which the country needs now more than ever.”
Rachael was humbled to receive this honour, and is excited for the opportunity to attend the program at MIT Sloan, one of the world’s leading business schools.
“The course at MIT will help me apply learnings from the best examples of change leadership from around the world.
“I want to lead hearts and minds while executing the right business decisions for our organisation in the short and long term.”
