The Immunology Department at SA Pathology is conducting a research study to assess the prevalence of COVID-19 specific antibodies in asymptomatic healthcare workers.
The study aims to identify the presence of antibodies to COVID-19 which may potentially indicate the presence of protective immunity. Healthcare workers who have not been diagnosed with COVID-19 infection and would be willing to donate a single blood sample can participate.
This study will provide valuable information as to the potential exposure to COVID-19 (based on the presence or absence of antibodies) in staff members who may or may not have been exposed as part of their work.
