In this episode, we discuss research using machine learning to predict patient outcomes within the first 24 hours of arriving at hospital after a stroke.
We speak to Dr Stephen Bacchi, neurology registrar and researcher the Royal Adelaide Hospital. He won the SA Health Young Professional of the Year award in 2021, and is currently a finalist for the upcoming 2023 South Australian Science Excellence and Innovation Awards for his PhD work.

Dr Stephen Bacchi is a neurology registrar and researcher at the Royal Adelaide Hospital.
Mentioned in this episode are two published studies; one to derive the AI models, and one to validate the models. Publication of the implementation study of these algorithms is underway.
