Flu vaccination program 2022
Making safe and effective flu vaccines available to all healthcare workers is a key priority of CALHN.
We have a duty of care to ensure that health care workers contribute to a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors. It is a requirement that all health care workers comply with the SA Health Immunisation policy guideline (PDF 587KB).
The annual flu vaccination program is an essential service led by the clinical worker health service across all our sites and programs.
The CALHN staff flu vaccination program has concluded. CALHN employees can still receive free flu vaccination at the below listed CALHN sites.
If you receive your flu vaccination elsewhere, please complete the vaccinated elsewhere form and submit the form to Health.RAHWorkerHealthService@sa.gov.au.

FAQs
What do I do if I’m over 65?
For staff aged 65 years and over, an ‘enhanced’ quadrivalent flu vaccine is recommended for this group as they are at greater risk of serious complications from flu and do not respond to the flu vaccine as well as younger adults.
You can receive this vaccination at a CALHN site, or at the Wayville Vaccination Clinic.
I have already been vaccinated; what do I do?
If you have vaccinated elsewhere, please make sure to complete the ‘Vaccination elsewhere’ form and email Health.RAHWorkerHealthService@sa.gov.au.
I refuse to vaccinate; what do I do?
If you refuse to vaccinate, please make sure to complete the ‘Vaccination declination’ form and email Health.RAHWorkerHealthService@sa.gov.au.
Can I get the flu vaccination on the same day as a COVID vaccination?
Yes, all COVID-19 vaccines can be co-administered (given on the same day) with a flu vaccine. See the ATAGI Statement on influenza vaccines in 2022 (PDF 203KB).
